About Arohaan
Small on purpose
We could have grown into a national staffing brand. We didn't, because the searches that mattered most to us needed someone who actually knew the client.
Our story
It started as one person's complaint
Daniel Okafor spent thirteen years at a large national search firm before he'd had enough of watching recruiters get judged on how many searches they could close in a month, not how many of those placements were still around a year later. In 2026 he left, rented a shared office in San Francisco, and started Arohaan with one rule: never run more searches than you can actually pay attention to.
That rule is the reason Arohaan is still a team you can count on two hands for client-facing recruiters, even now. We've had chances to scale up fast, take on volume contracts, open a call-center-style operation. We turned them down. Each of our recruiters runs a handful of searches at a time, which means they know the hiring manager's name, not just the job req number.
Somewhere around seven in ten of our engagements now come from repeat clients or referrals. We didn't plan for that number specifically. It's just what happens when you don't oversell.
What you can expect from us
- One recruiter who stays on your search from the first call to the signed offer.
- A real weekly update, sent by a human, with real numbers in it.
- A replacement at no charge if a permanent hire doesn't work out within 90 days.
- References checked before a resume ever lands in your inbox, not after.

What we believe
A few things we actually mean
Three good candidates beat thirty okay ones
If we can't find someone we'd stake our name on, we say so, instead of padding the shortlist to look busy.
You see the whole process
Our fee structure is in the first email. No markup you find out about later, no timeline that quietly slips.
We're not chasing the next deal
Around seven in ten searches come from clients we've already worked with. That's the number we actually track.
Candidates are not inventory
Every person we place is someone with a mortgage, a commute, a reason for wanting to leave. We remember that.
Leadership
Who's actually running your search
Daniel Okafor
Founder & Managing Partner
Spent thirteen years at a national search firm before deciding he'd rather run four searches well than forty searches badly. Started Arohaan out of a shared office in 2026.
Lauren Mitchell
Partner, Healthcare & Life Sciences
Ran hospital operations for nine years before switching sides. Knows exactly what a bad clinical hire costs, because she's had to fix it.
Ravi Deshpande
Partner, Technology & Product
Built the internal recruiting function at two Series C startups. Joined Arohaan because he was tired of being the only recruiter in the room.
Nicole Farrell
Director, Contract Staffing
Runs the contract and RPO side of the business. If you need forty warehouse hires by next month, she's the one who picks up.
